School Counseling

Welcome to the Oakwood ISD School Counseling page. Here you will find information that will help aid in the academic success of every student within our walls. In the counseling office, we help set standards, make goals, and collaborate among students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members in order to provide support and propel our students toward great achievements.

School Counseling Mission Statement

The vision of the school counseling department is to give all students adequate opportunities to be successful academically, socially, personally, and in their chosen careers and to help our students become productive members of society. The goal of the school counseling program is to assess and attend to the needs of Oakwood elementary, junior high school, and high school students.

School Counseling Staff

I am here to help students in any way that I can. Students can drop by my office throughout the day to speak with me. I will do my best to help students to work through problems and come up with solutions to any issues they may face at school and/or at home. Students and parents may contact me by phone at (903) 545-2140, ext. 112, or by e-mail. I will respond to emails throughout the day and will try to return phone calls by the next business day, if not before. Due to teaching a high school CTE class this school year, I am unavailable for phone calls and parent conferences from 8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. each day. I also kindly request that parents not contact me regarding school business through social media. The preferred method of communication is e-mail or phone call.
