School Counseling

Welcome to the Oakwood ISD School Counseling page. Here you will find information that will help aid in the academic success of every student within our walls. In the counseling office, we help set standards, make goals, and collaborate among students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members in order to provide support and propel our students toward great achievements.

School Counseling Mission Statement

The vision of the school counseling department is to give all students adequate opportunities to be successful academically, socially, personally, and in their chosen careers and to help our students become productive members of society. The goal of the school counseling program is to assess and attend to the needs of Oakwood elementary, junior high school, and high school students.

For students in grades 11th and 12th for the 2015-2016 school year, graduation requirements are as follows:

Upcoming Dates/Events

  • November 29, 2016 - SAT Boot Camp at Palestine High School for all OISD juniors and seniors.
  • Students who are interested in RN or LVN classes at Navarro after graduation are required to attend an information session. On December 2, 2016, Navarro will host this information session at the Mexia Campus. The LVN session is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, and the RN session is from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
