Dear Sherry Smith,
Congratulations! I am happy to inform you that Oakwood Elementary School has been selected to receive a 2006-2007 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant in the amount of $4,800 for Quiet Time/Counsel Area from the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation (LCEF). Your check is enclosed.

We’re thrilled to assist you with your project and in all of your work. Also included in this grantee’s kit are several tools to help you announce your successful grant application and some advice on getting more help for your group by connecting with your local Lowe’s store manager. Plus, you can find even more tips and customizable tools on the “Winners Circle” section of the toolboxforeducation.com web site.

For our grant recipients, we have a ready-to-frame certificate about your honor, press releases, press tips, photo tips and more. Look for two large Giant announcement posters in a separate mailing. These are perfect for celebrating this honor at your school.

Please keep the following in mind as you begin your project:

1. Our Toolbox for Education grants are reserved for approved school improvement projects that can be completed within one year of grant receipt. If your scheduled completion date or your project plans change, please let us know in advance. Please be advised that grant dollars may only be used for the specific project described in your submitted grant application.

2. We can’t wait to hear about your progress and successes. Please forward copies of news clips or promotional materials related to your project. Also, we love to see   digital pictures of the projects we support.

3. Your local Lowe’s store is here to help you make the most of your award. If you need Lowe’s sells for your project and don’t see exactly what you require in stock, please feel free to speak with your store manager. We may be able to help you special-order materials and possibly save you money as you complete your project.

The mission of the LCEF is to improve the communities we serve, and we are committed to having a positive impact on the lives of our customers, neighbors and employees. To help us measure community impact we request that you send us a report evaluating your project at its conclusion.

Congratulations on your Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant. We applaud your dedication to improving your child’s/children’s school. We wish you all the best as you implement your project.

Sincerely,
Kelly Persons
Community Relations
