School Counseling Staff

Most of you know me already, but for those who do not, my name is Lori Olive, and I am the district counselor for Oakwood ISD. I am a graduate of Oakwood HS, Baylor University, and the University of Texas at Tyler. I take my role as a school counselor very seriously. It is my passion to help all students to succeed in school, in their chosen career paths, and in life. I not only want to see them reach their academic goals, but also to develop strong social skills and develop good character. I consider it a great privilege to work with the students at Oakwood ISD.

I work with students in grades PK-12 every day. I am here to help students in any way that I can. At the HS campus, students can drop by my office throughout the day to speak with me. At the elementary campus, students can request to see me through their classroom teachers, and I will come to them. I will do my best to help students work through problems and come up with solutions to any issues they may face at school and/or home. Students and parents may contact me by phone at (903) 545.2140, ext. 112, or by email. I will respond to emails throughout the day as best I can and will do my very best to return phone calls by the next business day, if not before. I kindly ask that you not contact me regarding school business through social media, if at all possible. For students and parents, email or phone call is the preferred form of contact.
