Online Learning Update

Dear Oakwood ISD Community,

As the Oakwood ISD administration continues planning for the upcoming school year, we wanted to pass along important information regarding remote learning options.

The Texas Legislature recently failed to pass legislation that would support remote or online learning.  We recognize that a few families had expressed an interest in continuing remote learning, but we cannot continue to offer this option without the appropriate laws in place, guidance and support from TEA, access to resources, and funding that would support remote learning.

Therefore, Oakwood ISD, like most schools in Texas, will only offer in-person classes next school year and will discontinue all remote learning.

If you have any questions, please feel free to call and we will be happy to address any questions or concerns.  If remote learning options change, we will be certain to pass along that information as well.

Sincerely,

Russell Holden

Oakwood ISD Superintendent
