With the passage of Senate Bill 569, Oakwood ISD has partnered with Pearson Virtual School to offer a 100% online school program for non-Oakwood ISD students. This pilot program is available for grades 3 - 12 and is perfect for homeschool families and for those who are currently looking for a virtual school option. All classes are taught by Texas certified teachers who deliver synchronous, real time instruction in an online classroom environment. This program is aligned to the state standards and includes a robust catalog of course offerings. This pilot program will be limited to only 30 students, and will require prospective students to apply for admission into the program. Oakwood ISD is looking to expand the program after the pilot year to include an option for currently enrolled students. The Online Academy is free of charge as long as the students complete the program. There may be a refundable deposit required to start the program.
