Welcome to the Wood – Coach Cody Davis
My name is Cody Davis, and I’m truly honored to join the coaching staff here at Oakwood ISD. I recently completed my 28th year in education and coaching, and I can already tell that Oakwood is a special place. From day one, the school and community have been incredibly welcoming to me and my family. It didn’t take long to realize—this is where we belong. I’m proud to call Oakwood home and fully committed to making Panther Athletics the very best it can be. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of coaching nearly every sport and working with both boys’ and girls’ programs, finding success across the board. I believe in building not just strong athletes, but strong character—and I aim to lead by example every day. Outside of coaching, my greatest joy is my family. My wife, Amy, and I have been married for 28 years. We have three amazing children—Calyn (30), Kaylea (23), and Noa (18)—and we’re blessed with two energetic grandsons, Braylon (12) and Connor (9), who keep life fun and full of purpose. When I’m not on the field, you’ll likely find me fishing or camping with friends. Thank you to everyone who played a part in bringing me to Oakwood. I’m excited for what’s ahead and ready to help build a culture of hard work, discipline, and excellence. Go Panthers!
