Attention Parents,
Oakwood ISD went into a soft lockdown today based on law enforcement activities in the area. While there was no immediate threat to our school and students, we felt that taking this extra step was prudent given the information we had at the time. We hope we did not alarm anyone, but keeping kids safe is our first priority and we will always make decisions to do so. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Panther Powerlifters competed at the Mexia Invitational meet today and did really well. With over 300 lifters competing, they achieved some personal best. Jackson, Gavin, Kevin and Aniyah came to work. Go Panthers #TPW!!

After assessing the driving conditions, it looks like the roads have cleared up for the most part. Oakwood will resume our normal schedule tomorrow.
Out of an abundance of caution due to the dangerous road conditions, Oakwood ISD will remain closed on Tuesday, January 16. Please be safe if traveling and stay warm.

Attention Oakwood Parents and Community Members,
Oakwood ISD will host a public meeting on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 5:30pm in the Auditorium to discuss the district's plan to adopt the Guardian Plan for school safety. The Guardian Plan would allow the School Board to authorized certain individuals to carry a firearm (concealed) in an effort to keep our students and staff safe. More information will be available at the meeting and any questions will be answered.
