District volleyball game against Grapeland (9/11) has been moved to Friday (9/10) at 4:30PM at home.
Due to a shortage of officials, our junior high football game will be at Trinidad on September 9th with a 5:00 kick. Our varsity game scheduled for September 10th will now be played on the 9th as well after the junior high game at Trinidad. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30.
Good luck to our Cross Country team as they compete at the Latexo meet!

FOOTBALL - As of today, our Junior High football game scheduled for September 9th has been moved to Trinidad at 5:00. The varsity game scheduled on September 10th will also be played on Thursday September 9th at 7:00. We will update you with any changes.
Parents,
As we continue to evaluate the level of Covid spread in our school, please know that every classroom has been thoroughly sanitized and disinfected this week. Also, please do not hesitate to contact your child's teachers through email if you have any questions or concerns regarding work while we are closed this week. If you need to get in contact with administration, the Elementary Principal is Mr. David Richardson, drichardson@oakwoodisd.net, and the High School Principal is Dr. Stephanie Johnson, sjohnson@oakwoodisd.net.
We are currently planning on returning to school next week on Tuesday, Sept. 7. We will continue to closely monitor any additional cases and try to track the spread in order to make informed decisions based on current guidance. When we return, we will continue to encourage all students to wear masks to help mitigate the spread of the virus.
These are very difficult times, with many people suffering with the loss of loved ones. Please pray for all of those impacted by the Covid virus, our school and the Oakwood community.

Out of an abundance of caution and due to recent spikes in the number Covid cases in students and staff over the last few weeks, Oakwood ISD has made the decision to shut down school at the end of school today until next Tuesday, September 7. Students will still have the opportunity to work on assignments through their Google classroom or from the work sent home by their teachers. In the meantime, faculty and staff will be at school working to make sure every room is thoroughly cleaned and sanitized in addition to preparing work for their students.
It is also important to note that all athletic games have been cancelled for the week.
Breakfast and lunch will still be available to any students during the week as a grab and go option from the cafeteria. Breakfast will be available from 7:30am until 9:30am and lunch will be available from 11am until 12:30pm.
Thank you for your understanding during these difficult times. Please keep all of those who currently have Covid in your thoughts and prayers.
