Chief Latham would like to remind parents and students about the drop off location for high school students. For safety reasons, keep the north bound traffic on Holly St. flowing. Do not stop to drop students off in the middle of the road. Parents can turn around and let students out in front of the gym or high school, going south on Holly St. Chief Latham will be out monitoring traffic in the mornings. Thank you for your cooperation!

OAKWOOD PANTHERS GOLF DOMINATES AT DISTRICT! The Oakwood Panthers and Lady Panthers golf teams teed off today at the district tournament in Mart, TX — and they showed up in full force! The Varsity Boys team — featuring Eli Pettiette, Brendan Kennedy, Tank Andrews, Gavin Wilbanks, and Brady Harrison — brought home 1st Place Team Honors! Brendan Kennedy led the pack, taking 1st place overall, with Tank Andrews right behind him earning 2nd place. On the girls’ side, Jaslen Milligan, along with teammates Olga Alatorre and Karlee Stevens, competed fiercely, with Jaslen placing 5th and advancing to the next round! Attention Parents and Students! Schedule change next week! Oakwood ISD is proud to be hosting the High School District track meet next Thursday, April 3 at Oakwood Memorial Stadium. To successfully facilitate this track meet, it will require the vast majority of our athletic students and high school staff to be involved during the day. In order to minimize disruptions to the learning environment, we have decided to make Monday, March 31 a regular school day and to make Thursday, April 3 a school holiday. This will allow everyone to get to where they need to be with no lost instructional time. We have announced this to the high school students and sent notices home with our elementary students, but we wanted to make sure everyone is aware. To summarize: Monday, March 31 is a regular school day. Thursday, April 3 is a school holiday. No school this day due to the District track meet. Thank you for your patience and flexibility!
