REMINDER: Tomorrow, Wednesday, Aug. 7, marks the start of classes at Oakwood ISD.
With the new school year beginning, school buses will return to the roads. The Oakwood ISD Police Department urges everyone to be cautious while driving.
-- 🟡 Yellow lights on a school bus mean it’s preparing to stop. Slow down and stay alert.
-- 🛑 When the stop-arm is extended, you must stop. Passing a stopped school bus puts children’s lives at risk.
-- Watch for children waiting at bus stops and crossing the streets.

We are pleased to inform you that OAKWOOD ISD will still implement the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) under the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs for School Year 2024-2025. In CEP schools, applications are no longer required. While no application or eligibility determination process is required for your student to receive free meals this school year, the income eligibility requirement will still be required for the 2024-2025 school year. Each school/site or central office has a copy of the policy, which may be reviewed upon request.

Attention all Oakwood High School students, the Amazing Race is about to commence. Get your shoes ready and make sure you have on the appropriate attire. The race begins Monday, August 5, 2024.
Attention Parents: Parent Portal is temporarily disabled for online registration until tomorrow so that we can update our systems for the new school year. It should be restored by tomorrow morning. We appreciate your patience.

Reminder: Make sure your child is updated on their vaccinations. Incoming kindergarten and 7th graders were sent letters that show the vaccinations due. Please bring current shot records to the elementary office or email them to me. Tbynum@oakwoodisd.net
Incoming Juniors & Seniors: Reminder that there is a dual credit meeting on Thursday (7/25), at 6 p.m., in the Auditorium for those interested in taking dual credit for the upcoming school year. You should have a received a letter with information last week. Please attend and bring your parents.

Parents of students in grades 3-8, you will receive an email today with directions of how to view your student's STAAR scores in the TEA Family Portal. However, the scores will not be available in the Portal until tomorrow , June 14th. Since the school is closed on Fridays during the summer, I went ahead and sent out the emails today. --Miss Olive
