Oakwood ISD will host a town hall meeting in the High School Media Center on Thursday, September 26 at 5:30 pm. The meeting is to discuss the proposed Tax Ratification Election (TRE) that will be on the November ballot. This proposal, if approved, would generate additional funding from both local and state funding to help pay for additional expenses including modest teacher pay raises and safety and security for the district. School funding has remained stagnant since 2019 and many school districts, including Oakwood, are asking its community to help fill that gap. If approved, the tax rate would increase by $0.02. Homeowners who have less than a $100,000 valuation and senior citizens would not be required to pay any additional taxes because of current exemptions. We ask that anyone who has questions to please attend the meeting on Thursday, September 26 or the October 30 meeting.

Oakwood ISD Campus Police Chief, Joe Latham, would like to address HS Drop Off and Pick Up. For the safety of everyone, the North Bound traffic should keep flowing. You can drop off at the gym or turn around and drop off in the South Bound Lane, in front of the HS. Chief Latham will be out in front of the school to monitor traffic flow.
