As we get ready to begin our Senior Spotlights in the next few weeks, we just want to recognize the entire Class of 2026! Various students from this graduating class have been accepted to all of the colleges and universities listed here and we are so very proud of them and their accomplishments! #smallschoolBIGeducation
Attention! On Thursday, April 2 at 10:00am, Oakwood ISD will join other city, county, and local emergency management programs in participating in a statewide drill of local emergency alerting systems. This will just be a drill and no action is required.
The drill will be conducted using the Oakwood ISD emergency notification system and parents of students who are enrolled in Oakwood should receive an emergency message on their phones around 10 am on Thursday. Once again this is just a drill, and no action is required. We will remind people in the message that is sent out.

Theatre is about SO much more than the contest. Here is Covington's and Oakwood's companies who BOTH competed (AND advanced) with the same show, Cicada, coming together afterwards and pairing up with their counterparts.
These kids probably won't remember the trophies, who won or lost....but they will remember the connections they made: with their teammates, directors, and new friends from other schools. Wonderful human beings creating Theatre Magic, and telling important stories. 💚🎭💚

Bi-District Contest Thursday 3/12 at Glenn Rose
Oakwood ISD will host the second townhall meeting this Thursday evening, March 12, at 5:30 pm in the High School Auditorium to discuss the upcoming bond election. We would like to encourage anyone who has questions or would like additional information to please attend. Informational brochures and pamphlets will also be available. Please share and help to let people know about the upcoming election!
The UIL One Act Play is the UIL Varsity competition for Theatre in Texas.
Just like sports teams prepare and play for a District Championship, Theatre prepares plays as our "scrimmages" or "Off season" during the year, training actors, technicians and supporters for the rigorous SPRING UIL ONE ACT PLAY!
The company of students compete in the 1A division where there are approximately 250 schools competing and advance through District (3 out of 4 advance) , Bi-District (3 out of 5 advance), Area (3 out of 6 advance), Region (2 out of 6 advance), all the way up to the State Championships in Austin (there are 8 schools at state.)
From a 7 minute set up time, to the 40 minute maximum allowed for performances, students manage a formidable set of rules for this game, while telling meaningful stories that help shape our world.
Join us this season as we begin the journey of the 2026 UIL OAP!
District - March 10th at Mabank HS.
Bi-District- March 12th @ Glenn Rose HS.
Area- April 11th- Stephenville HS
Region- April 24th- Plano ISD
State Meet - May 11th- Austin ISD PAC
The Oakwood High School One Act Play has advanced to the State Championships 1 time in the schools’ history with Mockingbird in 2024.
Contest are pending our advancement.

Girls Powerlifting Regionals Update
Our girls competed at Regionals today and finished 14th overall as a team. Proud of the way they represented our program and competed with toughness.
Erin Feil
Amari Turner – 11th place in her weight class.
Aubrey Crowder – 1st place in the 220 lb weight class (Unequipped) with an impressive 770 total.
Region 3 Best Bench – Heavy Platform.
Aubrey Crowder will advance to the State Meet in Edinburg on March 19th.
